Roman Holiday

Before bringing out the tights and sweaters, we decided to make the most of the last days of summer and hop off to Rome for a sun-filled, perfectly mild weather weekend. This was our second time in Rome, and like the first, I wouldn't change a single second of it. Long, slow walks through the city, enjoying the fast paced fun near the Trevi fountain and the quiet beauty overlooking the city from the Janiculum. And course, who can forget the infinite possibilities of gelato flavored adventures (honey is a new favorite).

This lovely flower stand just outside our hotel near the Spanish Steps gave a lively start to our days

Whimsical little gelato cup near the Colosseum

Finally found the straw hat I'd been wanting all summer. Better late than never!

The fruit stands that line the city's busiest areas are busting with color and sure beat vending machines

I always think the sky in Italy is pink-er than anywhere else I've ever been. I especially love it at sunset
