why not?

Why not do your hair and wear bright lipstick when you don't feel like doing much else? It makes everything so much happier, and sometimes it's just enough to get you going in the right direction again. This morning was particularly bizarre - after snoozing one too many times, I wondered to myself 'what if i skipped school today?' The thought had barely left my brain when my eyes flung open - real life (and a real job) isn't exactly like school. And so, with an extra strong espresso and a reality check, these two simple additions helped me walk out the door with a smile.

a week in wear

This week, I made sure to snap an outfit shot before leaving home in the morning because it's all too often that I get home at night and once my shoes are off, all thoughts of outfit posting escape my mind. At the end of the week, I'm quite satisfied with the results and although in some instances I had to take the pictures more than once to wipe the 'just woke up look' off my face, I think I'll try it again next week. Between now and Friday, however, I'll have to work n making the pictures a little bigger ! (click to enlarge for now)

dubliner

For last weekend's escapade adventure, I foolishly thought that single-digit positive temperatures (celcius) would be appropriate weather for shiny ballet flats. It was when I got out of the car at the airport on Saturday morning - ballet flats on my feet and no other shoes in my bag - that I realized, I still have a bit of learning to do on living and surviving a real winter.
Luckily in Dublin, the weather was quite a bit tamer than it was in Paris and two pairs of tights did just the trick to getting my toes back to where I could feel them.
This is what I wore (or at least what was visible) for our Sunday stroll - Sunday, also happening to be a very special day in the history of G and K!

cool runnings

Halfway through an exceptionally cold weekend and a trip to the Printemps, this little wool wonder came into my life to keep me warm and cool at the same time. I've been meaning to change my black coat for months and finally found this one when i wasn't looking. It's really when you least expect it that the best things appear =)

12/24

I love the contrast of this classic school-girl blue on blue combo with the funkiness of these gold oxfords.
Sans accessories this outfit made me feel like a 12-year-old but avec, it's more appropriate for my 24-year old self. Last weekend, when I was looking for something warm, plane-friendly and fun enough for visiting Madrid all day, this is the mix I whipped up !

blouse: Ralph Lauren; sweater: Tommy Hilfiger; jeans and oxfords: Forever XXI; scarf (doubling as ear muffs): grandmother's; sunglasses: YSL
